In the field of cognitive science, computer simulation and psychological experiments has been traditionally used to understand human cognition. In this approach, results obtained from psychological experiments are analyzed in formalized methods such as using protocol/task analysis. These results are then implemented into cognitive models to run simulations based on human data.
